John Stott founded LICC (London Institute for Contemporary Christianity) in 1982 with the core belief that every part of our lives comes under the Lordship of Christ. LICC exists to envision and equip Christians and their churches for whole-life missionary discipleship in the world. They seek to serve believers with biblical frameworks, practical resources, training and models so that they flourish as followers of Jesus and grow as whole-life disciplemaking communities.
The creation of the Vere Institute was inspired by LICC, even deriving it's name from Vere Street, where LICC is based in London's West End. And fittingly, the Vere Institute has partnered with LICC to bring the Imagine Project to the U.S..
"Every new generation needs to be challenged afresh….not to separate the secular from the sacred, to allow Jesus to become Lord of every sphere our lives."
